Survey of the Lipno Lake

One of the biggest challenges in the ClimeFish project is to explain and evaluate the distribution and abundance of fish in the Lipno Reservoir

After the collapse of pikeperch fishery in the first decade of the new millennium in Lake Lipno, the population has started to show signs of recovery. Thus, exploitation of pikeperch has again slightly increased. ClimeFish researchers will evaluate how strong the recovery has been and to what level exploitation of pikeperch may be sustainable.

A thorough survey of the lake will be carried out in the last week of August 2017. A combination of several robust approaches like hydroacoustics, gillnetting, trawling and electrofishing will be used. Updates will follow here.
